Pokemon TCG

This fun Beedrill deck will instantly ONE-SHOT any Pokemon

There are few cards in the Pokemon TCG that can guarantee a knock-out, especially with the insane HP some cards have these days. That’s why I love this Beedrill deck.

Beedrill (Team Up) has insane potential because it can literally one-shot any Pokemon.

For one Grass Energy, Beedrill’s Destiny Stinger attack does the following: “You can use this attack only if this Pokémon has any damage counters on it. Both Active Pokémon are Knocked Out.”

If you couldn’t tell from the attack, this Beedrill deck is all about trading prizes, which makes this a terrific deck to play against decks that run Tag Team Pokemon and few single-prize attackers.

The inherent prize math of this deck is also why it includes Pheromosa-GX (Ultra Prism). Your Beedrills will get KO’d pretty fast, and if you still haven’t won the game by that point, you’ll need another attacker. Pheromosa-GX has a useful GX move that can help finish up games.

Pheromosa-GX’s attack Beauty-GX reads: “This attack does 50 damage for each Prize card your opponent has taken.”

How to play

The ideal Pokemon to start with in this deck is Jirachi (Team Up), which will let you grab extremely valuable Trainer cards throughout the game. Jirachi will also serve as a “buffer” Pokemon to put in the active position after your Beedrills are knocked out

Use Rainbow Energy and Rare Candy to get your Beedrills set up. Rainbow Energy will put a damage counter on your Beedrills, allowing them to attack with Destiny Stinger.

Use Great Catcher to select your prize trades. Sometimes you’d rather use Destiny Stinger on a benched Pokemon-GX than an active single-prize attacker, which is why Great Catcher is extremely useful in this deck.

After a few of your Beedrills have been knocked-out, it’s time disrupt your opponent with Reset Stamp. This will make it even harder for them to recover after you one-shot their Pokemon.

If necessary, clean up with Pheromosa-GX.

Spicy Techs

This deck includes some cards that might help out in unusual circumstances.

While this deck doesn’t run any Stadium cards, I’ve included one copy of Guzma & Hala in case you absolutely need a Special Energy or Pokemon Tool that turn.

One copy of Switch is included in case you end up with the wrong Pokemon in the active position. It will also come in handy if you want to use multiple Jirachi abilities in one turn (you can only retreat once per turn).

Lana’s Fishing Rod might be useful if one of your Weedles get knocked out before you can evolve it into a Beedrill or if your single copy of Pheromosa-GX gets knocked out.

Your opponent might try to stall time by putting a useless Pokemon in the active position for you to waste a Beedrill on — that’s where Phione (Cosmic Eclipse) comes in. Phione will make it harder for your opponent to control your target.
